Claire is a local resident with a lifelong belief in the power of kindness, connection, and community. After starting out in accountancy, she soon realised her true passion was people, not numbers. She went back to uni to take a BSc Psychology, MSc Criminology, and a further degree in Criminal Justice, paving the way for a career dedicated to helping others.
Claire has worked in many areas that support people through life’s challenges, including drug and alcohol services, the courts, the Probation Service, prisons, social housing, and community development.
Claire first volunteered over 30 years ago with homelessness projects and still continues to volunteer with a local charity that supports the local homeless as well as others. She is also a Magistrate, reflecting her commitment to fairness, respect, and understanding.
Claire feels MCL is a vital part of our community, describing it as a cornerstone of the local community, a place that provides dignity, compassion, and comfort at the end of a person’s life, whoever they are. She is passionate about ensuring it continues to offer its wonderful care and support to future generations.
