Welcome to the Macmillan Unit Patient and Family Support Team ‘Information Hub’. We hope you find the following resources useful for further support and information on local and national help available.
The Patient and Family Support Team receives referrals from the Macmillan Unit Ward, the Community Specialist Nursing Team and the Macmillan Unit Day Centre, as well as self-referral for people in bereavement whose loved one was under our care for up to 18 months afterwards. Please be advised that we are unable to respond to general enquiries or referrals for anyone not under the Macmillan Unit service.

Patient referrals to our service have increased significantly in the last ten years.The existing Macmillan Unit was built in 1974 and is now far too small for the number of people under our care. We have been setting aside funds to build a new Unit for many years.
Our patients receive the best possible care from our dedicated team of professionals and volunteers. Help us to provide them with the best possible facilities too.
