Freemasons from the South West Area, Hants and Isle of Wight hosted over thirty different charity organisations at the Bournemouth Masonic Centre on Friday 9th June 2023.
Money was raised through the different Masonic Lodges covering the areas of Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Ringwood.
A grand total of £104,023 was raised and forwarded to good causes within the Community.
Members from each Lodge then presented a cheque to a representative from their nominated charity, and that representative gave a short presentation on what their charity was involved with.
Neal Williams, Trust Secretary of Macmillan Caring Locally said “It was a humbling experience to be in a room with so many small charities that are doing remarkable work in our community. We are deeply grateful to the local Freemason Lodges who have so generously supported our charity, enabling our clinical team to provide the best possible care to those who need it most.”
Chris Lockwood who heads the South West Area within the Province of Hampshire & IOW Freemasons, said:
“Freemasons have an outstanding record helping those in need within our local communities. I’m very proud that South West Area Freemasons within Hampshire have been able to play such an important part in this essential charity fundraising. A truly humbling evening listening to how Charities spend the money donated by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Freemasons”
